A Graduate of Birmingham City University in Communication Studies, Sharon began her career as a Press Officer at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. In this role, she was responsible for liaising with the world’s media, in particular broadcast media; as well as organising visits by members of the Royal family; providing daily news reports and interviews.
On completion of this contract Sharon worked for the West End Times, Paisley Daily Express and Evening Times before returning to public relations working for the UK’s largest communications agency, Rex Stewart Public Relations.
In 1990, along with a Director of Rex Stewart, Sharon set up PR Partners before buying the business and changing the name to Bright Public Relations in 1998 and latterly to Loop Communications.
As a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Scottish Committee, Sharon established the industry’s first training courses in Scotland and development Crisis Management Workshops for senior practitioners.
Passionate about supporting young talent, Sharon regularly takes part in presentations to school children, students and women in business organisations. In addition, she was a mentor for Scottish Enterprise’s Volunteer Mentoring Programme for three years.
Sharon has over 23 years’ experience of creating and directing PR campaigns on behalf of a variety of clients, including those based in transport, manufacturing, professional services and retail.
